Police officer saves in extremis a suicidal man trying to jump from a bridge

Last week, Denver police and firefighters made a daring intervention to save a man who was attempting to commit suicide by jumping off a bridge. Authorities tried to convince him to move away from the edge for about half an hour before calling in a negotiator. Eventually, the man jumped, but thanks to the speed and courage of the officers and firefighters, he was rescued as he dangled over the void. A heroic act that deserves to be commended.
