A video emerged showing former police officer Declan Jones and his colleague Jennifer Edwards assaulting 44-year-old cyclist Michael Rose in Birmingham during the 2020 lockdown. As a result, Jones was jailed, but committed suicide shortly thereafter. The officer who patrolled with Jones, Sergeant Jennifer Edwards, was also found guilty of misconduct for using pepper spray on the victim during the assault, but she retained her job and received only a written warning.
