Double Amputee Fatally Shot by Police While Trying to Flee

A double amputee, Anthony Lowe Jr., was shot and killed by California police officers while he was trying to run away from them on his stumps. Lowe had just stabbed someone and was clutching a knife when the officers arrived. They tried to Tase him but it was ineffective, and within 15 seconds, the officers shot him multiple times. He later died at the scene. The family of Lowe is now demanding answers from the police department, and the officers involved have been placed on leave. The LA County Sheriff's Office is now investigating the incident. Lowe's mother said at a press conference, "They murdered my son, in a wheelchair with no legs." The family stated that Lowe lost the lower half of his legs in a previous altercation with police in Texas and was living with his mother.
